Getting started - adding a server:
Starting ServerWatch for the first time, you should add a server.
Tap on the screen and select "Add..." item from popup menu.
The "Server Settings" diagon will be shown up. (see Figure below)

Enter the server IP address or domain name. Make sure other parameters are correct,
then tap "OK" button. ServerWatch would start monitoring this server.

use this function to add, edit, delete, restart (run), or stop servers

:
view traffic information
- Contact
:
show connection table and contact list
- Alert
:
maintain your alert list and view alert log
- Query Server Info

query useful server information

Server List
|
|
The user can use this function to add, edit, delete, restart (run), or stop servers. To add a server:
- Tap on the screen, a popup menu will be shown up
- Select "Add..."
- Enter server information in the "Server Settings" dialog (see Figure below)

- Server Name: the server IP address or domain name
- Community: the SNMP community name (default is "public")
- SNMP port: default is 161
- Timeout: default is 1000ms (1 second), max. is 10000ms (10 seconds)
- Retry Number: max. is 10
|

The user can tap "Test" button to make sure this server supports SNMP access.
ServerWatch would test System MIB and TCP MIB and show the results in the listbox.

To edit or delete a server:
- Select the server first
- Select "Edit..." or "Delete" from the popup menu
|
|
Server States:
- Server is running:
- Try to connect to this server:
- Server is not reachable:
If the server is not reachable, the user can select "Run" item from popup menu
to reconnect to this server.
To stop a running server:
- Select the server first
- Select "Stop" from the popup menu
Note: Under the current Pocket PC architecture, no user application is running in suspend mode.
To keep ServerWatch monitoring the server, please do not turn off your Pocket PC. If you
turn off your Pocket PC and then turn it on, please use ServerWatch to stop the servers first and restart (run)
the servers again.

View
|
|
ServerWatch queries TCP traffic information from all servers about every 40 seconds
(depending on the network traffic) and shows them on the screen.
It also draws the bar chart using the last 19 InSegs(Inbound)/OutSegs(Outbound)
data.
Note:
1. red bar is for InSegs data and blue bar is for OutSegs data
2. the time shown at the bottom of the screen is the latest queried time

Contact

ServerWatch shows the current connection table of the selected server in the "Connection Table" listview.
ServerWatch also logs visitors since ServerWatch started in the "Contacted Hosts" listbox.

Alert
|

The user can configure alerts to notify him when undesired connections occure.
The left figure shows that there are two alerts. If any one of them is triggered,
ServerWatch will play sound to notify the user and log it to the log file (\My Documents \ServerWatch.log).
The user can copy the log file to Desktop PC and print it out.
To change the alert sound, please use "Tools>Settings...>Sound" dialog.

Query Server Info

The user can use this function to query some useful information about the selected server:
- System Name
- System Description
- Primary Domain(*)
- User Accounts(*)
- Installed Packages(*)
- Installed Network Services(*)
- Running Programs

Settings

The user can use "Settings..." to set up filter and select the alert sound that he likes.
The "Connection States" is used in the "Connection Table" of view function and "Alert List" of alert function.
